Nicaragua Mission Trip 2016

We are putting together a mission trip for next June.to partner with our friends with Vida Joven from Esteli, Nicragua   The likely dates are June 4-11.   We’ll be holding an informational meeting for anyone interested on Wednesday, Dec 2 from 7:00-9:00 at the home of Norma Santos and Andrew Conrad (12534 Woodfield Cir W. 32258).  (Dinner is family style. Let Norma know if you want to bring something.)
But why do we travel to another country on a mission trip?  Over the years, I’ve heard many objections to mission trips.  Some are valid, but most miss this point:  Something amazing happens in us when we spend time building relationships and working along side people who are actively engaged in trusting God for the transformation of their country!
Those of us who have gone have come back seeing our city, its needs and its people, differently.  We find our compassion renewed, our love rekindled, and our hope revived.  God has used these trips to stir our imaginations.   In short, we come back informed and motivated to live missionally, and to do so here.
So, do you want to join us?  This is an opportunity for families and singles.  At this time, we have two families and two singles who have said they feel called to go.   While we plan to serve in anyway we can, we expect to help with construction and contact work.  But our goal is to build relationships and encounter Christ at work in Esteli.
The total cost will probably be around $1250 per person.   There may be opportunities for fund raising and we will provide some resources for raising support.  Participating in some team preparation events will be expected.   If you know anyone who may feel called to go, let them know!  If they (or you) have questions, email pastorjessealexander@gmail.com, or call Jesse Alexander at 904-599-2889  (evenings and weekends).
