Healing Service Saturday Night

healing service

The church is called to heal.  The followers of Jesus are called to be healers.  Its a ministry that every follower of Jesus is invited into.  So, we’re having a healing service.

  • Jesus healed – read all about it in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
  • His disciples also had healing ministries (i.e. Peter and John in Acts 3)
  • And so did those who learned the faith from them. (i.e. Phillip in Acts 9)
  • And the earliest writings make it clear – so did the early church.

Healing is something rather new to us a lot of us.  But I (Jesse) received a really wonderful healing last Spring.  Friends sensed my woundedness and invited me to receive prayer.  They listened to my story, loved me through it, and prayed for me.

Coming out of that, I got a very clear impression from God that what He does for us, He delights to do through us.  We are holding this service in response to God.

On Saturday, we’ll gather under the cover of Nicholl’s Barn for dinner.  Afterward, we move into a time of worship, testimony, teaching, and prayer.  I am really grateful that some of the worship band from Faith Community Church will be helping us out.  Members of FCMC who’ve received some training in healing prayer will be present to pray for anyone who desires healing.

Let me be clear, it’ll be Jesus who does the healing, not us.  If you desire healing, we will  listen carefully to your story , love you through it, and pray for your healing.

If you want to join us for dinner at 6:30, bring a side dish to share.  The service will begin at 7:15.

God is good!
